EcoVadis rating
We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a Silver Medal status by EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. This achievement places JSG among the top 15% of over 130,000 companies assessed globally, reflecting outstanding performance across four key areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
Silver status is a testament to the robust sustainability practices that we are actively implementing throughout our operations, setting a strong benchmark in our industry. Since 2022, the company has already achieved an 11% reduction in carbon intensity and a 13% reduction in water intensity, demonstrating clear progress toward these goals.
As a provider of essential services to industries including manufacturing, hospitality, and healthcare, JSG plays a critical role in helping other organisations meet their own sustainability goals. We have made strategic investments in energy-efficient equipment, waste reduction initiatives, and ethical supply chain management, all of which contributed to our strong EcoVadis rating. JSG has set ambitious 2030 targets, including a 40% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 CO₂ emissions intensity and a 25% cut in water consumption intensity.
Peter Egan, CEO of JSG, commented: “We’re incredibly proud to receive a Silver Medal status from EcoVadis. This recognition reflects the real progress we’re making in integrating sustainability into every aspect of our business, from reducing water and energy use in our laundering processes to sourcing more sustainable linen and textile products. It’s a testament to our team’s dedication and a milestone in our journey to be the responsible business partner of choice.”
Alexandra Brennan, Group Head of Sustainability at JSG added: “Sustainability is no longer optional, it’s expected. Our strategy, ‘The Johnsons Way’, commits us to continuous improvement and transparency as we work toward better outcomes for our customers, communities, and the planet. The recent release of our 2024 Sustainability Report highlights the progress we’ve made so far and the concrete steps we’re taking to deliver on that commitment.”
